SLU 101 in Orlando, Florida

June 22-27 Dylan, Scotty, Sherri, Hannah, Morgan and I went to SLU (Student Leadership University http://www.studentleadership.net/ ). We left on Sunday and arrived on Monday. We got there right at 3pm on Monday and had a class (session, whatever you wanna call it) at 4pm. They lasted the majority of the time through Thursday at 2 when it was over. We got to go to Sea World on Tuesday for about 7 hours or so. We only had time to ride 2 rides and the rest of the time was spent getting from one place to another, classes, lunch and bathroom breaks. OH, we did get to see the Sea Lion show and the Shamu show. That was really cool!!! Wednesday God decided to give us some rain. We went to Universal Studios and spent about 6 hours there. It was really neat. I'd love to take my family sometime.

The speakers at the conference included:
Dr. Jay Strack, Founder of SLU;
Kenneth "Chuck" Allen, not really sure what all he's done but he was FUNNY!;
Mark A. Conklin, Business Consultant of Chick-fil-A (ummmm good);
Brent Crowe, Exec. Director of Training and Development (for SLU);
Dr. William E. Brown, Pres. of Cedarville University; and last but certainly not least...
Pat Williams, Sr. Vice President, Orlando Magic of the NBA (he was phenomenal)
All-in-all it was a GREAT experience. I learned a lot and so did the kids. Luckily we had a book to fill in the blanks and take notes in. We had 24 - 26 hours of class time while we were there. We left on Thursday and got home on Friday, early actually even though we made a "few wrong turns"! It was SOOOO FUNNY!!! We had a great time on the way there and back. There was not a dull moment to be had! I am looking forward to SLU 201.
Monday on the way there.
Tuesday!
This was a crazy lookin' shark!
These birds were everywhere. They were sooooooooo funny!
This is the Cracken, we all rode this. It was CRAZY!
About 225 of us went to Universal Studios.
They are soooooo funny!!!
I wish we could've seen them.
This is where we wanted to eat but it was rented out!
NBA City Restuarant, we ate dinner there. It was soooo good!

The menu was made out of basketball material.

We think this is a Rocket Booster from the/a Space Shuttle, not sure though.

God sent us a little reminder on our way home that he was watching over us!
