Big Man on the Totem Pole!

Some friends of ours, Beth and Chance are really working on getting their middle child, Matthew, to sleep in his own bed, and have had success until.....Garrett and Ashley intervened.


I got a text the other day saying something to the effect of " Did you know that Garrett and Ashley were telling Matthew ghost stories on the bus yesterday? He WAS sleeping in his bed but last night was different." I sent her a text back saying "Not my sweet, quiet Garrett. Before I sent her the message I asked him if he did and he admitted it. So the rest of my text was "He did say he did it, let Matthew return the favor." After I sent this to Beth she called and we talked about it and this is about how it went.

It was time for Matthew to go to bed he started crying saying that he wanted to sleep with Lane (the oldest). They were wondering why things had changed. Chance went in to have a talk with Matthew to see what was the matter. Matthew wound up telling Chance that Garrett and Ashley told him some ghost stories on th bus that day. I can ONLY imagine what Chance thought...I bet he was LAUGHING on the inside. Anyway, Chance went and told Beth that Garrett and Ashley were telling him ghost stories on the bus that day and now he didn't want to go to sleep. At that point, Beth wanted to (lightly I'm sure) strangle my child! I think once the night was over and all was said and done we can just chalk this up as Garrett thinking he's big man on campus and messing with the little Kindergartener. WE ALL LAUGH ABOUT IT NOW!

My new cool art work!

I just wanted to share with you the new art work that I carry around with me. I told Chad it was my FLAIR (facebook lingo)! I got it with my 2 best friends. We have been wanting to get a tattoo to symbolize our friendship. We've been friends for almost 20 years (it's hard to believe I can say that and there still be almost 14 years before all of that). We were gonna get a dragonfly but got butterflies instead. We all got different colors. I got my kids birthstone colors. I LOVE IT!!! I more proud of this one than my other one. I can't see it to admire it everyday though.

Oh and YES it did hurt! Mine looks brighter because they got theirs 2 weeks before me. Amanda (the middle one) has had some healing issues too. She's gonna have to get the colors redone. OUCH!

First Day of School for Dylan and Garrett

Well, this morning I got my 10th and 1st grader off to school without a hitch! No one was grumpy, no one forgot to brush their teeth and NO ONE missed the bus. This was a great morning. It was so calm and smooth it almost was scary! I hope this wasn't just a fluke and is the beginning of a GREAT SCHOOL YEAR! We'll see in a few weeks how it goes when we all have to get up and out in the mornings. This will be Averie's first year of preschool.

JUMP JUMP!!!

The other night I was taking a family's pictures at the house. Averie decided to sit and watch. There were 3 kids and they took pictures individually. I had them jump in one of them. Averie saw this and wanted to show me her skills. I should have left the backdrop up instead of you having to see my house! Anyway, here goes! Oh and YES this is my 3 1/2 year old, STILL IN DIAPERS daughter. If you have ANY foolproof potty training tips, I am ALL ears!

A POOL!!!!

After 5 HOT, HOT Summers we finally convinced Chad into letting us get a pool. Actually, it was given to us and that's about the only reason (I believe) that he let us get it! Either way, WE HAVE A POOL!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEE!!! We had so much fun filling it up. We all got in and were playing around while Chad was scrubbing the "muck" off. Averie liked it better with only inches of water rather than feet. She was able to play around without help! It took her some getting used to. She didn't like it at first. I wished for my camera when we were filling it up but I was having so much fun I didn't want to get out! Our favorite thing is to make a whirl pool. It's good exercise too! Oh, we have a deep end and a shallow end (I guess I should say SIDE)! The pool is on a small slope. I'll have to get a pictures of the whole thing at an angle where you can see it. It's pretty funny actually. Since getting the pool, Garrett has STRIPPED the life vest off! He is able to touch and LOVES IT! I think it makes him feel like a BIG boy! Dylan LOVES it as well, he's our "fish". We are all so excited about having it. I just had to share!!

UGH!!!

Have you EVER been without a keyboard? Mine went out the other day. I called Office Depot and they had me call the warranty company. I called him and he told me it would be up to 8 business days before I could get one. I had 4 orders I needed to work on just sitting here. I got so desperate at one point I was literally cutting and pasting letters to make words so I could look stuff up on google. I WAS GOING CRAZY! Luckily my dad had one at his house and he was headed this way. HE SAVED THE DAY!!! I don't think I could've gone another day without one. I know I could've just gone to the store and bought one but WHY if I'm getting a new one FREE!!! I paid for the warranty for a reason! ANYWAY, I'm back and ready to do some blogging. I will be back soon!
